2,000 trees in the Volgograd region were planted by SPLAT together with the PosadiLes.ru project

On April 14, on the territory of the Volgo-Akhtubinskaya Poima Natural Park (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve), as part of the ECA reforestation program, 2,000 trees were planted in an oak forest that burned out last year on the bank of the Gnilaya river. The plantings were organized by the PosadiLes.ru reforestation service with the support of SPLAT, which compensates for its carbon footprint.

In 2016, more than 400 hectares of the territory of the natural park, including oak groves, were traversed by fires, which negatively affected the ecological situation in the region. In place of burnt trees in the oak grove, a thousand English oak saplings and a thousand Tatar maple saplings. The planting area was specially prepared by the park staff, who will carry out the subsequent care of the seedlings. About a hundred activists took part in the plantings, among them were representatives of public organizations, local residents, students and schoolchildren.
“Our forest planting was the brightest and most rewarding event this weekend. With the help of volunteers and residents of the city, we restored about 3 hectares of land in the nature park, where we planted 2000 seedlings. This place will become a beautiful oak forest again! " - noted the coordinator of PosadiLes.ru in the Volgograd region Roman Potolovsky.
“The Volgograd Region has become the pioneer of the spring tree planting season within the framework of the Posadiles.ru project. It is very pleasant to observe that reforestation activities are becoming popular and more and more caring people are taking part in planting and contributing to reforestation! Good deeds unite people and give a sea of positive emotions. We thank all the participants and, of course, our partners, the SPLAT company, for the opportunity to preserve and preserve nature for future generations. " - said the head of the PosadiLes service Marianna Munteanu.
This spring, similar plantings to compensate for the SPLAT carbon footprint will take place in 2 more regions: on May 19 in the Republic of Udmurtia (4,000 seedlings) and on May 26 in the Irkutsk region (11,000 seedlings).
