On November 12, 2021, in the Volgograd forestry, an action was held to plant 9,700 acacia seedlings with the support of Sber.
On November 12, volunteers, students of VolSU and VolGTU, local residents planted acacias on the territory of the Volgograd forestry within the framework of the autumn campaign of the All-Russian project "Plant a Forest". Regional organizers provided transportation to and from the landing site for the volunteers, hot meals, and provided all the necessary equipment. Forestry specialists held a master class before the start of the event. Young trees were planted in areas specially prepared by the local forestry, which will take care of the seedlings. Planting trees will help to concentrate precipitation, create a comfortable and humid microclimatic environment, reduce wind force and create a “green shield” around the city of Volgograd. And the use of tree species resistant to arid climate will contribute to their good survival and will dramatically slow down steppe.
