In the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district of the Moscow region, volunteers planted 12 thousand pines

On May 12, 12 thousand pine seedlings were planted in the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district of the Moscow region to restore the forest, destroyedbeetlebark beetle... The planting was organized within the framework of the PosadiLes forest restoration and conservation project with the support of public funding.

This year, our team and reforestation volunteers had to promptly adjust their big plans for the spring of 2020. Due to the introduction of a ban on public events, and later - a regime of self-isolation in almost all regions of Russia, some plantings were postponed until autumn. At the same time, I am glad that some of the seedlings were planted in the spring by volunteers.

The work was carried out in the format of short-term watches in compliance with all the necessary safety measures for the participants of the landings.

«Thanks to everyone who supports our project and restores forests with us! We express our deep respect, love and gratitude for your contribution and support. Together we are doing a great job! " — head of the "PosadiLes" project Munteanu Marianna.

“The forest is an amazingly complex interconnected system. Here trees, grasses, birds, animals, soil - everything is connected with each other. When a tree's life ends, tinder fungi and other destructive organisms help transfer nutrients from the tree to the soil. This gives life to new plants. Young trees grow in place of the dead trees. But, unfortunately, we are losing more forest than it can be restored naturally. Therefore, the Plant a Forest project helps to restore forests. By participating in planting, you will become involved in the miracle of the birth of a forest. "says Lydia Belyaeva, planting coordinatorof the Plant a Forest project.

Throughout the summer, funds will now be collected for new seedlings, which the project volunteers will have to plant in autumn in several regions of Russia at once.
