10 thousand trees planted for forest restoration in Krasnoslobodsky district
10 thousand pine trees have been planted near the village of Staraya Avgura in the Krasnoslobodsky region of Mordovia to restore the forest damaged by the fires. The plantings were organized with public funding from the Posadiles Forest Restoration and Conservation Project with the support of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and the ECA Movement. About 30 activists took part in the planting. Among them are the volunteers of the ECA Movement, locals and students. The planting area was specially prepared by the staff of the local forestry, who will carry out the subsequent care of the seedlings. Earlier, Posadiles activists also planted 12 thousand pines in the Staroshaigovsky district of Mordovia.
The Posadiles project has been organizing tree planting in the burnt forest areas of Mordovia since spring 2017. During this time, thanks to the support of caring citizens, we were able to plant more than 40 thousand young trees in different regions of the Republic. We thank everyone who participates in planting, supports us and preserves nature for future generations. " — noted the head of the Posadiles project, Marianna Munteanu.
Anyone who was unable to join the plantings in person can support the restoration and conservation of forests online at website PosadiLes.ru. The service will send photos and GPS coordinates of the seedlings.
