In May 2022, volunteers of the federal project “Planting Les” landed in the Demidovsky district of the Smolensk region 10 thousand spruce and pines on 3 hectares.
But it is not enough to plant a tree, it is important to grow it. In order for our trees to grow strong and strong, we regularly carry out agricultural vehicles in the first years of growth.
On August 1, 2023, the first agricultural vehicle was held at the site of the May landing, which was carried out by the forces of forestry specialists with the support of the ECA MOOO. With the help of trimmers, a mowing of herbaceous vegetation in a row, shading young trees is made.
The percentage of survival was also calculated. According to Mironenkov Alexei Ivanovich, the head of the Demidov forestry, the survival rate was about 80%, which is a good indicator for the first year and for our region.
