In the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district of the Moscow region, volunteers planted 12 thousand pines

On May 10, 12 thousand pine seedlings were planted in the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district of the Moscow region to restore the forest, destroyedbeetlebark beetle... The planting was organized within the framework of the PosadiLes forest restoration and conservation project with the support of public funding.

This year, our team and reforestation volunteers had to promptly adjust their big plans for the spring of 2020. Due to the introduction of a ban on public events, and later - a regime of self-isolation in almost all regions of Russia, some plantings were postponed until autumn. At the same time, I am glad that some of the seedlings were planted in the spring by volunteers.

“Planting trees is a business that fills with energy and gives unforgettable emotions. I am happy that I have contributed to the preservation of the nature of the Moscow region and will definitely take part in further plantings in the autumn season ", - says volunteer Anna Lavrova.

“The forest is an amazingly complex interconnected system. Here trees, grasses, birds, animals, soil - everything is connected with each other. When a tree's life ends, tinder fungi and other destructive organisms help transfer nutrients from the tree to the soil. This gives life to new plants. Young trees grow in place of the dead trees. But, unfortunately, we are losing more forest than it can be restored naturally. Therefore, the Plant a Forest project helps to restore forests.By participating in planting, you will become involved in the miracle of the birth of a forest. " - says Lydia Belyaeva, planting coordinatorplant a forest.

Throughout the summer, funds will now be collected for new seedlings, which the project volunteers will have to plant in autumn in several regions of Russia at once.
