On April 24, 2021, in the vicinity of the village of Gigatli, Tsumadinsky district of the Republic of Dagestan, at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level, 5000 (five thousand) seedlings of three tree species were planted for the first time: small-leaved elm, pine and birch.
The action brought together more than 50 volunteers: local residents, activists, schoolchildren of the village of Gigatli, forestry, activists and volunteers from the city of Makhachkala. Everyone came with a desire to increase the number of green spaces in our country. Environmental actions always differ in that they bring together a large number of people of different professions, confessions and views.
In the preparation and implementation of the tree planting action, the "Plant a Forest" project is grateful to the Forestry Committee of the Republic of Dagestan, represented by its chairman Abdulkhamidov Vagab Magomedovich, and the Dagestan public organization "STUDENT CENTER".
Since last year, "Plant a Forest" not only organizes and carries out planting of seedlings, but also helps to provide care for the next 2 years.
