On October 15, 2021, in the Republic of Mordovia, an action was held to plant 10,000 trees with the support of SBER
A campaign to plant 10 thousand trees took place on the territory of the Smolny National Park in the Ichalkovsky district as part of the autumn campaign of the All-Russian project “Plant a Forest”. Sberbank's corporate volunteers, together with volunteers from various organizations of the republic, planted Scots pine seedlings and restored 2 hectares of forest. Regional organizers provided transportation to and from the landing site for the volunteers, meals, and provided all the necessary equipment. Forestry specialists held a master class before the start of the event.
“More than 120 volunteers took part in this action - the massive participation of volunteers in forest planting is good news: they help forest workers restore vast areas of forests that have died from fires, harmful insects, hurricanes and other disasters. But we must not forget that for the cultivation of a new forest, it is not the planting itself that is of primary importance, but the subsequent care of young trees; in the future, we plan to carry out agro-care here as well ”.
“For Sberbank employees, participation in environmental projects has become a part of everyday life. Each of us planted hundreds of trees, and together our team this year helped to restore forests on an area measured in tens of hectares. For 180 years, Sberbank has been filling life with new opportunities. Each tree planted is a great opportunity to make the world around us a better place. ”
